CALLING ALL INTERNS! Sterling Publishing Co., Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Barnes & Noble is looking for interns in New York in the areas of:
- Managing Editorial: develops in-house procedures to control the workflow from the manuscript to the finished product.
- Fall River Press – Editorial: titles in a wide array of subjects including history, classics, and humor.
- Digital Markets: promotes books digitally.
In addition to working with our creative and talented staff, our internships provide a well-rounded experience educating interns on all facets of the book publishing world. You will sit in on Lunch & Learns, have face to face time with our President as well as receive tools and tips on finding that dream job!
We are seeking a creative, innovative, risk taker who isn’t afraid to think “outside the box” and make an impact within the department as well as the organization. We require our interns to bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow. All of our interns must have a strong interest in book publishing!
Internship details:
- Internships are unpaid and for course credit only
- Interns must commit to a minimum of 14-28 hours per week
- All students are given a lunch and/or travel stipend

CALLING ALL HUMAN RESOURCES INTERNS! Sterling Publishing Co., Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Barnes & Noble is looking for a Human Resources intern in New York!
In addition to working with our creative and talented staff, our internships provide a well-rounded experience educating interns on all facets of the book publishing world. You will sit in on Lunch & Learns, have face to face time with our President as well as receive tools and tips on finding that dream job!

Responsibilities:
- Provides daily administrative support to the Human Resources department including, but not limited to filing, reception coverage, reference checks, maintaining department calendars and schedules, assisting with planning and preparation for employee events and meetings.
- Assists in recruitment process to include posting jobs, phone screening applicants, scheduling interviews and attending career fairs as needed.
- Assists with special projects.
Qualifications:
- Current undergrad or graduate student within Business, Human Resources, or related field.
- Ability to work well within a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Must be able to prioritize multiple projects and requests.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
